via UCR The rumor mill has been spinning on a project from The Who for awhile now. New details came out today that Pete and Roger have a new studio album in the works. It would mark the first, new release since Endless Wire in 2006.
In the article Townshend says he's got 15 demos that consist of:
“dark ballads, heavy rock stuff, experimental electronica, sampled stuff and cliched Who-ish tunes that began with a guitar that goes yanga-dang.”
There's also talk of the band doing a "Symphonic Tour", similar to what Daltrey did last year with his version of Tommy. Dates for the proposed 30-date arena tour have yet to be confirmed, but the basic plan is for the Who to hit the Northeast starting in April, then return to the rest of North American in September and October.
