The 6X Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots will drop their newest Banner and open the 2019-2020 Season against the Pittsburgh Steelers on NBC's, Sunday Night Football, September 8th 8:20pm at Gillette Stadium. This marks the first prime time meeting between the two AFC foes since the Pats opened the 2015 Season (which also featured a Banner raising).Aside from the usual Home+Away's with their regular division opponents (Dolphins,Jets,Bills) The Pats will host NY Giants, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys and the Kansas City Chiefs. That last entry is destined to be a huge ratings draw as it will be a rematch of the AFC Championship Game from last January. Meanwhile, the reigning Champs Road Games include: Baltimore Ravens, Washington Redskins,Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans and Cincinnati Bengals. The all-important Bye Week falls in Week 10 (November 10th)
The Patriots defense of the crown will have a quite different look after the losses of TE Rob Gronkowski (retired), WR Chris Hogan, DE Trey Flowers, LT Trent Brown and CB Eric Rowe to name a few. They have been active in the free agent and trade markets by acquiring DE Michael Bennett, TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, S Terrence Brooks, WR's Demaryius Thomas, Maurice Harris and Bruce Ellington. Pats fans should take stock in the fact that the Team will also have 12 Picks in the upcoming NFL Draft (April 25-27 in Nashville) which should further bolster an already deep and talented Squad.
