A few months back word came that legendary Director Martin Scorcese was working on a new project surrounding Bob Dylan. The subject, it turns out his 1975 Rolling Thunder Revue tour. It was widely regarded by critics as some of his best, live shows of the era. The tour featured a lot of Dylan's friends -- including Roger McGuinn, Joan Baez, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Joni Mitchell and Ringo Starr.
June 12th, Netflix will release Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese. Its being hailed in this UCR piece as
"part documentary, part concert film, part fever dream” and a “one-of-a-kind experience from master filmmaker Martin Scorsese.”
The day before it pops up on your Netflix, the film will be shown in special, “road show” screenings in London, Paris, Washington, D.C., Nashville, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Boston, Austin, Dallas, Houston, Portland, Tulsa, Tempe, Chicago, Cleveland, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Sydney and New York.
But wait, there's more:........A 14-CD box set of material from the Rolling Thunder Revue. (five complete Dylan performances) along with previously unheard rehearsal audio is due out on June 7th.
