If you didn't know better, you'd almost think you were looking at early 70's versions of their famous Fathers. This is The Allman Betts Band. Formed by Gregg's Son Devon Allman and Dickey's Son, Duane Betts on vocals and guitar, Berry Oakley Jr. on bass (son of original Allman Bassist) and rounding out the group: slide guitarist Johnny Stachela, keyboardist John Ginty and percussionists R. Scott Bryan (Sheryl Crow) and John Lum, the album also features Peter Levin(Gregg Allman's Hammond B3 player) and former Allman Brothers Band and current Rolling Stones keyboardist Chuck Leavell.
Their debut album Down to the River was recorded at the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Alabama and will be released on BMG June 28th Before that, you can catch the band on tour when they play the Lowell Summer Music Series June 14th.
