Soundgarden, along with the Chris Cornell Estate and UMe announced today, new live releases and events for Soundgarden: Live From the Artists Den. The 29 song, 2+hour set recorded at The Wiltern in Los Angeles was the final show of the 2013 Tour in support of the band's King Animal album. Thankfully for fans, it was filmed for the famed television series and will be available July 26th on Blu-ray, two-CD or four-LP collection. Want even more? A limited-edition Super Deluxe Box contains all three formats, a 40-page book of photos, lithos of the band and replicas of the all-access pass and ticket stub.
In this article Cornell's widow Vicky says:
This live show was really special, and I know how much fun Chris had that night. The idea of giving fans the opportunity to experience it in its entirety is something I’m proud to share with them.”
The "immersive" events include pre-release screenings at The Wiltern on June 17th. The press release says the event will "showcase 12 HD camera angles customized for an immersive multi-screen viewing experience," The show also gets an East Coast release at Brooklyn Steel in New York. The film also gets a Northwest showing June 23rd in Seattle at the Showbox.
