Anybody that's swam in the ocean at some point has seen a jellyfish. But I'd bet dollars to doughnuts you've never seen anything like THIS behemoth. The Barrel Jellyfish was filmed off the coast of Cornwall, England. A BBC broadcaster and biologist Lizzy Daly is seen on a dive, swimming alongside the graceful giant. Some of them can grow to weigh over 77 pounds. The underwater experts say they pose no threat to humans. Still, there's no way you'd ever see me get that close to one of these things.
The sighting happened to coincide with Wild Ocean Week, a project that involved filming their wildlife encounters for a week to raise money for the Marine Conservation Society, a nonprofit that works on cleanups, education and legislation to protect oceans.
