Ringo Starr has revealed plans for the release of The Beatles 50th Anniversary Edition Box Set of Abbey Road. Just as they've done the last two years with other immortal classics like Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and The White Album. Abbey Road, was originally released in September of 1969 and turned out to be the last studio album the band recorded.
In this Billboard article Starr is excited about what's to come:
"I've loved all the re-releases because of the remastering. "....and you can hear the drums, which got dialed down in the old days."It's amazing with Beatles music; We have a billion streams a year now, and every generation still has a listen to us. Far out."
This isn't the only anniversary he's celebrating in 2019. It was 30 years ago (July 23, 1989) -- that Ringo started his first All-Starr Band. Members at the time included brother-in-law Joe Walsh,Dr. John,Billy Preston, Rick Danko and Levon Helm of The Band, and Clarence Clemons and Nils Lofgren of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band.
