The 21st Annual "Great PuPkin Costume Contest" took place last weekend in Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn, NY. Only this gathering went to the dogs....literally. (I'll show myself out). After seeing some video footage below, I wish my City had one of these. It almost begs the question: are Pet Costumes more fun to see than their Human counterparts?
The Grand Prize Winner was a pup outfitted in The Red Baron and Snoopy costume; coming in second was StarWars: The Pups Strike Back; third was Honey I Blew Up Chester; and other standouts included Willy Wonka & The Goldendoodle Ticket, Hot-Dog Cart, King Henry VIII & Anne Boleyn, Remy the Pug Thanksgiving Dinner. According to Forbes the National Retail Federation, U.S. residents have spent over $8-Billion combined, this year alone on costumes, decorations, candy, Parties, Haunted House Attractions and theme parks. With 17% of Americans dressing up their pets in costumes.
