Legendary motorcyclist, Guy Martin has just broken his own World Record for the Fastest Tractor On Earth. That record was 103.6 mph at Yorkshire’s Elvington Airfield, but the manufacturer JCB wanted more. So they recently returned using d a lighter and more aerodynamic version of the tractor. In one direction, the tractor reached 153.7 mph. The five-ton behemoth JCB Fastrac Two was clocked by Guinness Book Of World Records officials from opposing directions with an average for the record of 135.191 mph.
Those impressive numbers are produced by a 7.2-litre diesel engine which is modified to produce a whopping, 1,000hp and 1,843lb ft of torque. In this article from Grand Tour Nation, the daredevil driver says:
“It doesn’t feel like a tractor [to drive] From the outside, it looks like a tractor but it doesn’t sit in and it doesn’t go anything like a tractor.”
ya don't say?.....Well, either way Martin's records go beyond tractors. He’s also set the fastest speed on a gravity-powered snow sled at 83.49 mph, the fastest soapbox at 85.61 mph, and the highest speed on a Wall of Death at a very scary 78.15 mph. I don't even know what a "Wall Of Death" is, but it can't be easy to handle....
