Following the break up of his marriage and a down period with Crosby Stills and Nash, Neil Young made a very personal album in 1975. However, it never saw the light of day. He shelved it and released Tonight's The Night instead.
Now for the first time, fans will get to hear the album that (almost) never was. In this piece from UCR, Young says it's:
“A record full of love lost and explorations. A record that has been hidden for decades. Too personal and revealing to expose in the freshness of those times.” He added that it was “the unheard bridge between Harvest and Comes a Time.”
The album Homegrown is due out in early 2020 and available on vinyl. Which fits the theme of the painstaking process used to master the original analog tapes. You can visit Neil's official website for a cool video on how that went down with Producer John Hanlon.
