Fresh off their triumphant set at Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebration this past weekend, Queen have confirmed the release of some archival material this Fall. Guitarist Brian May and Drummer Roger Taylor told BBC Radio 2 in a recent interview that they've 'found a hidden gem" featuring Freddie Mercury.

The track "Face It Alone' was originally recorded during sessions for The Miracle album in 1989. However, it, along with a few other songs didn't make it on the record at the time. May thought it was a lost cause trying to unearth the track until his team of sound engineers got a hold of it. He went on to say:

“It was kind of hiding in plain sight. We looked at it many times and thought, Oh, no, we can’t really rescue that. But in fact, we went in there again and our wonderful engineering team went, OK, we can do this and this. It’s like kind of stitching bits together. ... But it’s beautiful, it’s touching.”

Although there is no official release date, the British legends suggest Queen fans could finally get to hear it by September. The last time the band released archival material featuring Freddie was on the Queen Forever compilation in 2014. That featured three previously unheard songs with the King Of Pop, Michael Jackson: "Let Me in Your Heart Again," "Love Kills," and "There Must Be More to Life Than This" (*see below)
