Meet The Man That Hit 56 Pubs In 24 Hours

We've all heard of Pub Crawls, but this is next level. Meet Gareth Murphy, 29, of Caernarfon, Wales. He drank at 56 pubs in 24 hours back in February, breaking the previous record of 51 set last year by an Englishman. The feat earned him a title in the Guinness World Records. My first thought was: "how did he not black out after a few hours?" I should point out, although he had a few beers, he didn't drink alcohol at each stop. According to the officials, he was only required to drink a beverage of some kind. Murphy says he also enjoyed various juices and sodas too.

The second thought I had was: "how many bathroom visits did he make during that stretch?" In this article from UPI, he says:

"I lost count of how many toilet breaks I took. At the beginning it was minimal, once every 10 pubs say, but by the end, I think I was going once every two or three pubs,"

He picked the perfect location to set this record too. According to Guinness World Records official site, Cardiff has the highest density of pubs, bars and clubs in the entire UK, with over 300 licensed establishments in a 1/2 mile radius.
