Before George Thorogood, Sammy Hagar And The Circle take the stage tonight for our WZLX 37th Birthday Bash, I thought I'd give you a little sneak preview of what to expect. The Red Rocker launched his "Crazy Times" World Tour this past Friday in Bridgeport CT. and just hammered the crowd with huge hit after huge hit. But it wasn't just his solo material, and "Van Hagar" era songs. Thanks to having the heir to the drum throne Jason Bonham in the band, the Zeppelin ripper "Rock And Roll" took on a whole new life.
Sammy's bandmate and brother in arms Michael Anthony then took over lead vocal duties to "go back to where it all started", Van Halen's debut album for another killer classic. In this piece from UCR Hagar said:
"A tour this size has been a long time coming, and it's definitely going to be worth the wait,"The Circle and I are super-excited and ready to throw the party of the year with George Thorogood. We're going to take the music and party to a whole new level"
Here's some video of the tour opener with the setlist posted below. With the talent level and catalog of these bandmates, don't be surprised with a few curveballs at tonight's show at the Xfinity Center.
