Via the BBC. The Duke of Cambridge made Ringo Starr a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire today at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
"It means a lot actually," the musician told the BBC. "It means recognition for the things we've done. I was really pleased to accept this." Not his first time being honored at the palace, 53 years ago The Beatles were awarded the MBE and Ringo said he missed having his bandmates around this time.
"I was a bit shaky today on my own," he said. Congratulations Sir Ringo!
