Green Day played the DCU Center in Worcester on St. Patrick's Day last year. Green Day on Green Day! In the crowd was an eleven year old kid from Rutland named Grant, sporting green hair for the day's festivities. Before the band went into their cover of "Knowledge", lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong asked if there was anybody in the crowd who could play guitar. Grant immediately volunteered, went up onstage, and was taught a few chords to play. Not only did he nail it, and the crowd go wild, but Billie Joe autographed the guitar and gave it to him.
