Volunteers Placing 37,000 Flags On Boston Common

That's a pretty powerful image from the sky. 700 volunteers started placing flags at 1pm Wednesday on Boston Common.

Each of the 37,000 plus flags planted at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument will represent every brave Massachusetts service member who gave his or her life defending our country since the Revolutionary War.

There will be a name reading ceremony on Thursday, May 24th at 10:30am. During this ceremony, families of the Massachusetts fallen since 9/11/2001 will read the names of their loved ones in front of the flag display in Boston Common.

They're looking for volunteers to keep watch over the flags for the weekend and then help take them down. If you would like to help, click here, Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund.
