It was just last May that Round Hill Investments LLC purchased New England Confectionary Company in Revere for $17.3 million in emergency auction.
According to the BostonGlobe.com, on Tuesday they said,, “Round Hill Investments was very excited to acquire Necco’s historic brands and to be part of their national resurgence. Azfter careful engagement and consideration, however, the firm decided to sell the brands to another national confection manufacturer and today announced the closure of the operations in Revere, Massachusetts.”
Well isn’t that a kick in the Halloween candy bag. After being in business and a part of local candy history since 1847. They shut it down..
Will Squirrel Nut Zippers, Clark Bars, Necco Wafers, Sky Bars and candy Valentine hearts taste the same if they’re made somewhere else?
