The age old baseball bet. Mayors do it, Governors do it, and breweries do it. Sam Adams and Brooklyn Brewery got into some ALDS trash talking on Twitter which resulted in a bet.
The Boston Red Sox vs. The New York Yankees wager was that the losing city would have to post a video on Twitter of them toasting with the winner’s beer while wearing the winning brewery’s hat, as well as renaming a beer in their tap room.
We know how that turned out. But look at the beer they named for the winning team. “This Sox Pale Ale”? Say it fast. This sucks? And a weak pale ale for the powerful Sox? Maybe a stout would be more fitting.
Poor sports I say. The beer around here tastes more championship quality.
