There is no offseason for Fenway Park, home of the World Champion Boston Red Sox. After the Duckboat parade was over, “America’s Most Beloved Ballpark,” hosted Irish hurling, the Harvard/Yale football game, and the crazy Red Bull Crashed Ice event.
Now, as the Red Sox hone their skills for another World Series run down in Florida at Spring Training, Dave Mellor, the head groundskeeper at Fenway Park, and his crew, are ripping up the old field and putting down a fresh carpet of green for the 2019 season. They just started taking out the old turf on Friday, and Dave posted some videos on Instagram of the process. If you look closely, you can still see the gridiron from the Harvard/Yale game still on the field. #GoSox
