Rock Album Covers Banned By The Censors Through The Years

The Rolling Stones, Beatles, Alice Cooper, Jimi Hendrix, they all had to change their album cover art to satisfy the censors. Some of it was pretty obvious, Jimi Hendrix surrounded by naked women for the cover of "Electric Ladyland", but some of these are strange. Like the censors phobia of showing toilets. The Rolling Stones had to change the cover of "Beggar's Banquet" because it showed a disgusting toilet that most have us have probably been confronted with at highway rest stops across the country, or this innocent looking Mama's and Papa's album cover that had a clean commode which still had to be removed because of it's vulgarity.

UltimateClassicRock.com put together this excellent list of banned album covers, some of which you may have never seen before. Click here to see 20 Banned Album Sleeves: When Rock Runs Foul Of The Censors.
