I've ridden the lifts at Sunday River a bunch of times. I've seen dropped poles, gloves, bras hanging in trees, but I've never seen a bear family on a black diamond before. Zach Louison, who works at Sunday River as a snowmaking supervisor, posted video to Facebook of the mama bear and her cubs as they emerged from the woods on the Agony trail. He said in the five years he's been working there, he usually sees bears in the summer and late fall, but because of the amount of snow and lack of food they're a lot more active this spring. I would probably pass on glade skiing this day.
