David Lee Roth lost his best friend recently. Russ was a 12 year old Australian cattle dog, and David's constant companion. They went everywhere together, he even went on the last 2 Van Halen tours and traveled the world. Russ was a rock star himself, his bark can be heard on Van Halen's "A Different Kind Of Truth" album on the song "HoneyBabySweetieDoll."
Sadly, Russ was stricken with arthritis in all 4 legs that was so bad he reached a point where he couldn't move any more. David shared the story of the last moments he had with Russ. "When it's time to deal with one of your sweetheart loved ones, your puppies, your dogs, your cats, and you gotta make that terrible decision, here's something that's gonna soften the blow, and I'll give you a little tip. This is as much for us as it is for the critter."
It's a great story about a sendoff fit for a best friend...watch.
