Red Sox Michael Chavis Hits Dinger After 5 Year Old PA Announcer Intro

The Boston Red Sox were looking to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Houston Astros over the weekend. As Michael Chavis stepped to the plate in the 5th inning, he was introduced to the Fenway Park crowd by a five year old guest PA Announcer named Jaxon. Chavis acknowledged the intro with a point to the kid, then launched a 420-foot homer over the Green Monster on the first pitch he saw from the Astros Wade Miley.

Not only was the kid and the crowd of 35,000 ecstatic, so was Michael Chavis. In an interview with NBC Sports Boston after the game he said, "Honestly, it was cool. I don’t know if I’m ever going to meet him, but it was a cool moment for sure. I got to see a little bit of a video of it and how it played out. It’s something I’m going to remember, and hopefully he does as well.”

The only thing that could have made this better would be if he hit the ball into a clock tower and showered the crowd in sparks Roy Hobbs style. Check it out...
