Via BostonHerald.com. Another weekend of Great White Shark sightings along Cape Cod forcing beach closures. One family had an experience they'll talk about for many Summers to come.
People were fishing about 3 miles off of Wellfleet aboard the Columbia Sportfishing Ship, when according to captain Marc Costa, a Great White Shark saw a chance for a quick meal as a bass was being reeled in.
“It had come up and it lunged out of the water and bit the fish, meanwhile swinging its tail up and out of the water,” said Costa. “The shark bit the fish in half, and he took it off the line,” said Costa.
As the shark jumps, a boy nearly gets whacked by the tail. “There have been some close takes … but nothing as acrobatic as that,” said Costa.
I'll bet they play mini golf and go for ice cream for the rest of their vacation.
