Cheez-Its, that great American sodium filled snack in the iconic red box. All these years I thought it was just made for kids lunch boxes and sticking your fist in mindlessly during a Patriots game until you realize you've eaten the whole box, and have to live with the guilt and orange grease on your fingers.
But now, Pizza Hut has taken it to a whole new level with "Cheez-It Pizza." It might be a stretch to call it pizza because the over-sized fluorescent orange squares are stuffed with cheese or pepperoni, with a dipping sauce like a calzone.
Thrillist.com did a taste test and described it as, "startling how Cheez-It-like this stuffed "pizza" tasted. The crust has that pure, absurdly salty, hooking flavor that Cheez-Its have -- the kind of flavor that makes you shovel Cheez-Its into your mouth hand over fist before realizing you've knocked out a Costco-sized box in a matter of hours. It's a little bit perplexing to bite into, as the crust is soft and chewy, rather than crispy like the snack-sized squares. It's essentially Cheez-It pie crust enveloping gooey cheese filling; a stoner cheese lovers paradise."
