David Lee Roth joined the ranks of other classic rockers making Las Vegas their second home. He kicked off his Sin City residency at The House of Blues last night with a mix of Van Halen classics like "Jamie's Cryin'," "Panama," "Atomic Punk, and "Jump," with solo songs like "Just Like Paradise and "Just A Gigolo."
In an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal he described playing at the House of Blues, "When you hear what we're bringing, particularly in a spectacularly tight venue like you can find in Vegas — it's nice and tight, you can see everybody's faces, you can see eyebrows. I've said that dogs are more popular than cats because they have eyebrows. You can tell what the dog is thinking. Kitty cats, they're like strippers: You can't tell what they're thinking." I think that means, he's looking forward to it?
He plays again Friday and Saturday, then heads off to Manchester, NH to open for Kiss February 1st.
How does he sound? Check out his vocals on "Unchained," and you tell me...
