The sports drought continues with no end in sight. I actually watched a 2 year old European Handball Championship on ESPN Ocho this week. But the NBA has come up with a competition for this weekend. Basketball stars challenging each other to a game of H-O-R-S-E.
All stars like Chris Paul of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks will follow CDC social distancing guidelines by shooting on isolated home courts as they compete shot for shot. The rules are, a coin toss at the start of each game will determine who shoots first, with the more senior player calling heads or tails. Players must describe each shot attempt, specifying the type of score they intend to make before taking a shot, such as a bank shot or swish. Dunking is prohibited. The first player in each game to accumulate the letters ‘H-O-R-S-E’ after failing to match five shots is eliminated.
Boston Celtic legend Paul Pierce is going to take on Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls. The trash talking should be epic.
It airs on ESPN this Sunday April 12th at 7pm. But can it really match Larry Bird taking on Michael Jordan for a Big Mac?
