Back in the days before covid, tourists would pack the cobbled streets of Kirschgarten, Mainz in Germany for food, drink, and shopping. Imagine being there when a man walks up, takes an acoustic guitar out of his case, and starts playing the Led Zeppelin classic, “Stairway To Heaven.”
I would think that’s pretty cool, but let’s see what he does with it. Suddenly, some women start playing the woodwind parts near a food truck, then another one starts to sing the familiar lyrics in a beautiful voice, then there’s a keyboardist, a drummer, bass, then a chorus comes walking out of a side street. But that’s not all, truck doors open up, and there’s the German version of Jimmy Page ready to wail on the solo with a stack of Marshall amps behind him. It’s awesome!
Check it out, and think about the days ahead when we can gather like this again...
