Via cnn.com. Matt Goodman of Taunton turned 21 on December 6th. Drinking age! He wished he could have that first legal beer with his Dad, but his father passed away from esophageal cancer 6 years ago.
What he didn’t know was that his father had planned for this moment. John Goodman was the kind of Dad who was always there for his kids big moments, games, birthdays, everything. But he knew he couldn’t be there to buy his son his first beer, so he secretly gave a ten dollar bill to his daughter and wife telling them this was for his first libation.
"Knowing that he thought about a future big moment in my life meant everything, because even being gone he still did whatever he could to make my 21st birthday," Goodman told CNN. "It was probably the best present I've ever gotten."
December 6th Matt used that ten bucks to buy that beer and toast his Dad. He tweeted,
”Almost 6 years ago before my dad passed he gave my sister this 10$ bill to give to me on my 21st birthday so he could buy me my first beer, cheers pops havin this one for you!”
