Steve Van Zandt Responds To Criticism Of The Springsteen Super Bowl Ad

As Tom Brady was cementing his reputation as the GOAT, Bruce Springsteen made an appearance at the Super Bowl in a 2 minute Jeep ad.

Bruce was shown driving through the American countryside, with sweeping views and slow motion shots, on his way to a tiny chapel in Lebanon Texas that sits on the geographical center of the continental United States.

The message from Bruce was of healing, finding common ground, meeting in the middle.

"All are more than welcome to come meet here in the middle. It's no secret the middle has been a hard place to get to lately, between red and blue, between servant and citizen, between our freedom and our fear."

"Now fear has never been the best of who we are, and as for freedom, it's not the property of just the fortunate few, it belongs to us all. Whoever you are, wherever you're from, it's what connects us, and we need that connection. We need the middle," Bruce says in the voiceover..

While some found it inspiring, others found it offensive. The comments under the Jeep tweet run the gamut. Rushing to Bruce's defense was E Streeter Steve Van Zandt with a series of tweets. Check out the ad and the reaction.
