I kind of like how they handled the Grammy Awards this year. Instead of having The Staples Center in Los Angeles filled with over dressed artists, it was scaled down because of covid to a couple tents. One had Grammy nominees at a small number of tables waiting to see if they won, and the other tent had artists and bands performing. There were more performances than awkward thank you speeches, and scissoring, compliments of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.
Boston's own Bill Burr was put in charge of giving out Grammys before the big broadcast. In an interesting program move, they had Bill give out Grammys for Latin and Opera performers that he had no chance of correctly pronouncing. He is getting hammered today for his hosting!
However, he did correctly point out that rock music was ignored and managed to get in a Don Dokken reference. Watch him struggle through this...
