I remember when Curt Schilling did a Ford F-150 TV commercial before he came here. In the ad he's hitchhiking after being traded from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Red Sox. When he gets picked up, the driver asks him where he's headed, he says, "Boston, I gotta break an 86 year old curse," and he did it!!!
He could have been elected President of New England after winning the World Series, the bloody sock could have been the new Massachusetts state flag, but no, what happened? All that good will disappeared after some people found a lot of his social media posts offensive, he even lost his job as an ESPN commentator because of it.
In a new interview with USA Today, he says that he's moving his family out of here. “Outside of our circle of friends, it hasn’t been a real pleasant experience in Boston,’’ Schilling told USA TODAY Sports. “So we’re just trying to find a place to live out our lives with happiness with people that are nice, and Tennessee is it.’’
We're nice! I held the door for someone today. Do you think he's right?
Remember when the love was there?
