The second round of the NHL playoffs between the Boston Bruins and the New York Islanders has been nuts! A hat trick, full crowds at the Garden, fights, and now, a fine.
Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk was fined $5,000, which is the maximum fine allowed under the NHL's Collective Bargaining Agreement, for cross-checking Islanders defenseman Scott Mayfield at 13:04 of that crazy third period that saw the Bruins rally to tie the game and send it into overtime. Unfortunately, they lost after an ill advised pass by rookie Jeremy Lauzon led to a breakaway.
