Ron Popeil, Infomercial King, Has Died At 86

Via nypost.com. The man who it feels like invented infomercials has passed away. TMZ is reporting that Popeil had a medical emergency on Tuesday and died Wednesday morning surrounded by family at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center at the age of 86.

The man was a legend of late night TV. The inventor and pitchman sold everything from the Pocket Fisherman, Mr. Microphone, the Buttoneer, the Smokeless Ashtray, Popeil’s Electric Food Dehydrator, the Inside-the-Egg Scrambler, GLH-9 (Great Looking Hair Formula #9) Hair in a Can Spray, the Rhinestone Stud Setter (Later called the Bedazzler), the Cap Snaffler, the Popeil Automatic Pasta Maker and the Ronco Electric Food Dehydrator.

HE HAD GUYS SPRAYING HAIR FROM A CAN ON THEIR HEADS!!!

We still use our Showtime Rottiserie in the Nowlin house, and he sold over a billion dollars worth of those alone. Let's take a look at what this man left behind to make our lives easier. Set it and forget it Ron...
