Sad news, Eddie Money passed away early this morning from stage 4 esophageal cancer. Variety.com published a statement from his family,
“The Money Family regrets to announce that Eddie passed away peacefully early this morning. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our loving husband and father. We cannot imagine our world without him. We are grateful that he will live on forever through his music.”
Just a few weeks ago he revealed on his reality show, "Real Money," that he had been battling cancer. I had the chance to interview The Money Man several times and he was one of the nicest guys with a great sense of humor.
In an interview with Rolling Stone this year he said that despite having a string of hits, he missed out on the big rock star money but, “The kids aren’t in jail, they’re not in rehab, nobody’s wrecked the car this week and there’s still milk in the refrigerator. I’m having a good month.”
